MediaTek itself has confirmed in its official documentation that the Helio G100 (the base on which the "Ultimate" version is built) is practically identical to the earlier Helio G99 in both CPU and GPU, with the only tangible change being support for a single 200 MP camera.
In other words: this is not so much a new chip as a G99 with a better camera pipeline.
The "Ultimate" label (and the "Ultra" some companies use) are marketing names applied by MediaTek's various partners (Infinix, Tecno, Xiaomi) to the same base Helio G100 platform, with no documented architectural differences between them.
That transparency matters, so no reader is misled by a name implying an upgrade that does not actually exist.
Performance: a fairly old chip in new clothing
The chip uses the same design as the Helio G99: two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz.

The chip uses the same Mali-G57 MC2 found in the G99, with no update at all.

The fundamental weakness: no 5G

The single tangible addition over the Helio G99 is support for one camera at up to 200 MP, alongside 16+16 MP dual capture and 32 MP video recording at 30 fps, with display support up to 120Hz at Full HD+.

The Helio G100 Ultimate is, at its core, a repackaged Helio G99 with stronger camera support and a new marketing name — not a chip that earns the "Ultimate" title on actual performance.
The missing 5G and the slow UFS 2.2-class storage make it suitable only for very tight budgets, for buyers content to stay on 4G for a long time to come.
For anyone wanting longer future-proofing, alternatives such as the Dimensity 6300 remain the more sensible choice despite the small price difference.
